Birthday Boy

Monday night we went to Giraffe for Tom’s birthday. I can’t recommend it enough for taking kids. The staff there are great, going out of their way to accommodate children (crayons for colouring in, balloons etc.) and despite a few stares from the clientele when the kids were running around, nothing was a problem. Even the balloon I accidentally released into the sky was replaced. So my bad uncle status was redeemed. Again.

Tom was happy – wanting to clink glasses with everyone, and he even got to speak some Spanish. Mia was happy too, once she had told everyone it was her birthday in two weeks. Mia wasn’t allowing Tom to be the centre of attention for too long, you know.

Never stand between a small child and birthday cake.
